Yard Operative (Counterbalance)

At DCS Group, we’re on the lookout for a reliable and hard-working Yard Operative (Counterbalance) to join our Warehouse team in Banbury.

This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in a warehouse environment and has a strong understanding of logistics, health & safety, and warehouse operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely load and unload delivery vehicles in line with daily goods-in and goods-out schedules

• Use the departmental system to track and process incoming vehicles efficiently

• Ensure pallets are stable, wrapped securely, and loaded onto the correct vehicle

• Report damages or contamination promptly to protect product quality

• Conduct daily truck safety checks and maintain cleanliness of equipment

• Operate handling equipment in line with training and safety regulations

• Support warehouse operations with general duties as required

• Follow all SOPs and maintain compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice)

• Work closely with internal teams (Stock Control, Packing, Logistics) and external partners (drivers, hauliers)

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (essential)

• Previous experience in a busy warehouse or yard environment

• Awareness of warehouse health & safety and manual handling best practices

• Good numeracy and attention to detail

• Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude

• Flexible and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
