National Account Executive

Our latest exciting plans to develop and grow our new Food distribution business has seen major brands such as Whitworths and Danone joining forces with DCS.

Operating out of two amazing sites, we have the 26-acre Banbury Head Office and warehousing facilities as well as our new state of the art Health and Beauty manufacturing facility occupying 100,000 sq. ft based in Redditch. The role is based from our Banbury office 5 days per week.

Main Job purpose

Main job purpose:

  • Support the Business Unit Lead and National Account Manager across accounts within the channel, while managing a personal portfolio of customers.
  • Deliver and exceed DCS sales and margin targets by building strong relationships and identifying commercial opportunities.
  • Contribute to customer growth through relevant category and shopper drivers, data-led insights, and effective internal coordination.

 

Experience and competencies required

  • Proactive mindset with the confidence to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support team and business objectives
  • Resilience and ability to learn from mistakes and adapt quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Good numerical accuracy and data interpretation skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders across different levels and functions
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritise workload

Drive and exceed DCS sales and margin targets by building strong, strategic partnerships with key customers. Grow market share through category, customer, and shopper-led initiatives. Own and deliver accurate volume and value forecasts for the assigned customer group. Continuously enhance DCS’ commercial performance by influencing customer behaviour, optimising supplier investment, and managing terms that impact key financial levers.
