3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

With divisions spanning Sales and Distribution, Export, Co-Packing and Manufacturing, and additional manufacturing operations in Redditch, this is an exciting time to join DCS and be part of our next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, you’ll act as the highest level of technical escalation for infrastructure-related issues and take a hands-on role across servers, networks, virtualisation, storage, security and cloud environments.

You will also support infrastructure projects, improve resilience and performance, and help develop the wider IT support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN and wireless infrastructure

• Manage Windows Server, VMware and Microsoft 365 environments

• Support Kubernetes/containerised workloads

• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP

• Support storage, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity

• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security

• Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents

• Act as the 3rd line escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support

• Support infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades

• Work with external IT suppliers and technology partners

• Mentor and support IT engineers across the team

About You

You’ll have strong hands-on infrastructure experience and be confident troubleshooting complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ infrastructure / systems engineering experience

• Strong Windows Server and VMware experience

• Experience with Kubernetes / Docker

• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, firewalls and VPN

• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365

• Knowledge of storage, backup and disaster recovery

• Strong security awareness and experience with patching and vulnerability management

• PowerShell or scripting experience would be beneficial

• Strong communication, troubleshooting and stakeholder skills
