We are currently looking to recruit a determined and reliable Health and Safety Apprentice to join us on a permanent, full-time basis working 40 hours per week at our site in Banbury. 

As a Health and Safety Apprentice, your duties will include:

• Conduct safety inspections, including workplace and specific to fire and first aid.
• Support the site to conduct fire drills and fire alarms and ensure they are correctly recorded.
• Safety inspections, risk assessments and working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
• To carry out regular audits of fire, first aid procedures.
• Maintain, update and create safe systems of work and ensure records are maintained.
• Ensure all health & safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to, reviewed, updated and communicated.
• Maintain supplies of PPE and staff uniform and order replacements as required.
• Complete regular reviews of risk assessments for all work activities.
• Ensure documentation is available for training courses and assist with training as required.
• Produce minutes for H&S committee meetings and distribute.
• Keeping comms zones up to date.
• Enter data on to T100 and keep H&S stats up to date.
• Monitor near miss reporting and produce stats and monitor for trends.
• Assist with implementation of the business’s environmental strategy, with a view to implementing ISO 14001.
• Any other duties relevant to the role

What we are looking for in our ideal Health and Safety Apprentice:

• English & Maths GCSEs or equivalent – grade 4 or above/ grade C or above
• Methodical mind and attention to detail
• Good communication, organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to solve problems
• Self-motivated, target driven and focused on achieving results
• Computer literate e.g., Excel/Word
• Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
